I started a music podcast! 🎧#

I’ve been DJing drum & bass music over a decade now, and now I’m starting a podcast to share my love for the genre with others! Welcome to Balcony Sessions! The format is very casual and simple: every two weeks (or so, depending on work and other life commitments) I’ll record a DJ mix for about an hour - that’s it! Occasionally, (like in this first episode), I’ll have a guest DJ join me for a tag set.

Hosted on Castopod#

Rather than deal with podcast hosting service, I wanted to use my knowledge of cloud computing to self-host my podcast. I’m using Castopod to host the podcast. It’s a dream to use, and I think it’s perfect for a small podcast like this. You can find the castopod instance at https://podcasts.dcaud.io

Future Plans#

There are a few things I’d like to do with this podcast in the future, mainly:

  • Featured tracks
  • Album/EP Reviews
  • Streaming the mix live on Twitch or YouTube

But for now, I’m just happy to have a place to share my love for the genre with others. I’m excited to see where this goes!

This week’s mix#

For our first episode, I had the pleasure of doing a special tag-team set with Mr. EyesLee, one of my closest friends. While it’s not perfect, we both had a lot of fun and I think it turned out decent. I’m excited to do more of these in the future!
